Mums in Biz in Birmingham Today

The Mums Enterprise Roadshow lands in Birmingham today, 31st October,at Cranmore Park, as the event continues to showcase the extraordinary support, services and opportunities out there for mums. This includes retraining, flexible working, freelance support and help to start and grow a business.

Last month’s London event hosted a Flexi Work & Career zone sponsored by Tideway London, a StartUp & Growth Zone sponsored by Cashplus and 121 Business Advice area sponsored by Simply Business, plus over 60 exhibitors, twelve practical workshops, an inspiring Q&A panel, a brand new Open Mic Story Stage and speed networking for business or to find a co-founder.

Hannah Martin, exhibitor and founder of Talented Ladies Club says: “Four and a half years ago, when we launched Talented Ladies Club, shows like this just didn’t exist. It’s amazing to see how much progress has been made in this space. Mums have had enough of compromising their careers and being sidelined – now we’re fighting back by relaunching our careers, demanding more maternal and flexible working rights, and using our skills an experience to launch creative, successful businesses. Mums Enterprise is a celebration of that, and it’s wonderful to see so much talent and ambition under one roof. Lindsey and Lucy are creating something amazing and I can’t wait to see what else they achieve, and how many more women they help.”

The Mums Enterprise roadshows are organised by two mums (Founder & CEO Lindsey Fish and Creative Director Lucy Chaplin) from home around their kids (Lindsey had her second baby just a few weeks before the London show).

So they’re in the same shoes as the women attending, and feel passionately about making a difference to their lives. Mums left the London show feeling inspired, with increased confidence, new contacts, opportunities and even new friends as they all #shootforthemoon.

By 2020 Lindsey and Lucy aim to be welcoming over 30,000 women through eight regional shows organised across the nation. With potential investors and future sponsors in attendance yesterday, the pressure really was on to impress and from all accounts they managed to do that.

Mums can find more details about the upcoming events and register for free visit at www.mumsenterprise.events, to find out about the next event in Brighton in February 2018.  New regions are being added for 2018, including Manchester and Edinburgh.
