4 Reasons You Should Move Your Company Premises

In between all the other concerns that a small business man have, whether to move Premises or not is typically not high up on the priority list. However, this doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be on the agenda when you’re thinking about your company’s future. In fact, there are many reasons why a move might be beneficial. If your current offices are looking a bit shabby, you might just want to cast your eye out across the neighborhood and see what else is out there.

  1. Opportunity for Growth

If you’re still in the premises that you started your company in, then you’ve likely already outgrown them. Moving to bigger and better offices allows you to grow in a number of ways – you can have more desk space, hire more employees, get access to the latest technologies and infrastructure, and most likely improve many other areas that might be a concern in your current premises. A move elsewhere could be the motivation you need to really expand and cement your company’s future as a well-established business.

  1. Build From Ground Up

If you’re looking across town, then you might want to take a look at any properties that are completely vacant. If they are, not only might you get a better deal on your lease, but you’ll also able to mould the premises exactly as you see fit. It’ll need to have the basics, like commercial plumbing and electrical systems set up, but beyond that you’re kind of free to do whatever you want. What kind of tone do you want your working space to have? Take a leaf out of the cool startup offices dotted around for inspiration; it’s beginning less and less necessary to fall in line with traditional work spaces – get creative!

  1. Get a More Desirable Address

New businesses, especially ones without high initial capital, usually choose any space they can find to get their company up and running. Now that you’re established, you’re able to mix with the other established companies in your area. Where do most of your competitors base themselves? Having a better location does sometimes attract a higher rental cost, but it can be itself back in a number of ways. For starters, potential customers will be able to find you more easily, and it’ll also give your company more prestige; just think of the difference between a centrally located business compared with one that is out in the middle of nowhere.

  1. Better for Employees

Your employees aren’t robots. They need to feel engaged and inspired by their jobs. This doesn’t just mean by the work that they do – it also means their surroundings. A change in scene, especially the change to a scene that is noticeably more trendy and inspiring, is sure to have a positive influence on your employees, who will feel galvanised by the move. If you’re able to add a touch of fun and creativity to your office, all the better. A better located office can also reduce commute time for your workers, which will boost productivity.
