Introduction about the Founder & CEO of Code Brew Labs.

Aseem Ghavri, CEO/founder of Code Brew Labs and co-founder of Third Unicorn. He was born and brought up in Chandigarh in a humble family where his parents were in a government job. Graduated from Panjab University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science, he is first-generation entrepreneur. Nobody in his family has any prior experience in the business.

Aseem Ghavri realised that he hunger to break through the chain of a middle-class status can be achieved only by business and not by a job. As a result, he started his first venture Hungryville as soon as he joined college. After starting, running, and scaling (a shutting down) 4 startups, where he working on his current entrepreneurial endeavour – Third Unicorn.

How did he crack the chance of becoming co-founder of Ashneer Grover’s startup Third Unicorn.

Towards the end of 2021, he got an opportunity to work with an Ashneer-Grover-funded startup. He identified that as he perfect chance to reach out to him as he had already failed in getting in touch with him over the last couple of years via cold DMs and emails.

When he met him for the first time, he positioned himself as a complete package – who he is, and his background, his previous work, how he helping this startup – everything, to make him acknowledge his potential. He eventually started talking about the latest market trends and potential business opportunities, when he mentioned how he is still not satisfied with his work and aspire to build something big – a unicorn.

He proposed to Ashneer to hire him in any capacity possible so that he can learn from him directly and gain relevant experience. After a few days, he messaged Aseem Ghavri to meet him in Delhi, where he proposed him be his co-founder for his next venture. It was hard to believe, but yes, Aseem Ghavri did it!

Aseem Ghavri, began his first venture Hungryville with just 8000 bucks. After failing multiple times, putting in over 10 years of hard work, and not raising a single penny of funding, he have scaled his startup Code Brew to a 100 crore revenue and a team of over 600 employees. Personally, he feel thrilled to crack the position of co-founder alongside Ashneer Grover despite lacking any fancy degree, solid industry connections, or mentor.

About the Bootstrapped or funded startups.

While starting a business, he would prefer to go bootstrapped, as he did with his previous startups. But once your startup reaches a certain level and the unit economics is sorted, they can look for investors as it will definitely help their startup scale faster.

Advice to budding entrepreneurs.

Although Aseem Ghavri have a lot of advice for them since there’s no one common solution that fits every entrepreneur’s journey. In fact, he have also started ‘10 minutes with AG’ where he get on a 1:1 call with a startup founder and offer him personalized solutions. Since he didn’t have any mentor or guidance, he know how it feels and hence would be happy to help as many founders as possible. But one piece of advice he have for new entrepreneurs is to not waste time on a startup idea which is not scaleable or profitable. Take decisions fast and don’t get stuck on an idea which is not yielding any result.
