If you’ve been a part of the information marketing/personal development/transformation industry for any length of time, you’ve likely heard the phrase “uplevel your business” bandied about.

You especially may have heard talk about how to put yourself on the “fast track” to unleveling your business if you’ve ever heard an offer for  a high-level Program, such as a high-end mentorship or mastermind or coaching program.

And, those offers aren’t wrong. Sometimes investing in yourself at a really high level is exactly what you need to have a big breathrough. I’ve personally known successful entrepreneurs who attribute the start of their success to investing in something way outside their financial comfort zone, such as joining a big, high-end program or investing heavily in a team or hiring a high-end mentor.

In other words, they used a big financial stretch to create the foundation they needed to uplevel their business.

So, I know it works.

But, the problem comes in if you’re not actually ready to uplevel your business.

Maybe you’re not emotionally ready to receive a big uplevel, or maybe you have some sort of blocks around upleveling. If that’s the case, then chances are if you try and force the issue by joining a high-end mastermind or mentorship program, what you’ll end up with is a big, expensive disappointment.

So, the question becomes, how do you know if you’re ready for a big uplevel? How do you know if joining that expensive mentorship or mastermind program your gut is telling you to do, is a big mistake or exactly what you need?

I think it comes down to asking yourself how much do you want that breakthrough? Or, another way to say it — are you ready to do whatever it takes?

Are you ready to follow the program, even if it means doing things you don’t want to do?

Are you ready to feel the emotions that come up as you start to uplevel your business? Are you ready to feel the grief or anger or fear or shame or guilt or whatever it is to allow those emotions to move through you?

If the answer is “no” or “not sure,” you may want to do some deeper work around this idea of upleveling. Is upeveling your business something YOU want, or is it someone else’s goal?

Or is there something else about upleveling your business that’s stopping you?

Now, if you are a 100% YES, I WILL do whatever it takes to uplevel my business, then taking that external step of joining an expensive program may be precisely the kick-in-the-butt catalyst you need to turn that dream into reality.
