The internet has created lots of opportunities to work from home, and gain all the benefits that go with it. But it has also opened the flood gates to a torrent of scam artists and tricksters ready to take money off people aspiring for the work home dream.
One area in which work at home scammers are rampant is in the field of data Entry work. On their websites they will make claims of ways you can earn $100s if not $1000s a week entering data for lawyer and medical firms.
The problem is that to gain access to these (probably imaginary) lucrative markets you have to pay them a sign-up fee and then, probably, never hear from them again.
If you are looking for data entry work then there are plenty of legitimate websites (like Elance) offering data entry work where you don’t have to pay a fee. On these sites you will find real companies looking for people to enter data into spreadsheets, transcribe audio interviews, enter comments into forums and other straightforward work from home online jobs.
You might not earn the $1000s a week promised by some websites. But you can at least earn enough to support yourself rather than chase an imaginary dream designed simply to fill a scam artist’s pockets.
To earn $1000s doing online work from home you need to expand your services
Data entry tasks are generally simple to do, and consequently don’t pay big bucks. If you really want to earn a decent income working from home online my advice would be to consider how you can grow your services.
Along with data entry, why not apply for article writing jobs, research projects and other work from home tasks. You could also offer clients additional services after completing a data entry project, such as remote customer service or social media marketing assistance.
There’s a wide variety of real work home jobs you can do for clients. My advice would be to think about the variety of services you can offer as a package. Data entry is unlikely to earn you the $1000s per week promised by some websites, but it can be the springboard to something bigger with ambition and perseverance.
