This guide if for you if you think you have a good idea for a website operating in the adult niche. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a porn website, it could sell sex toys or be a blog discussing the topic of having sex. Create something awesome and you can make good passive income online from home in a fun sector!
Not any old web hosting provider will do
It’s vital you are aware that to run a website with explicit content you need to use a web Hosting provider that allows it. You can’t just use any web host! Most have it in their terms and conditions that nothing explicit is allowed. They will shut you down.
With that being said we will first look at what hosting providers you have to pick from.
One of the most popular to go with is HostGator. They’re a very large company who’ve been established a long time. They have a variety of hosting packages depending on how many websites you want to setup and what type of hosting you need. They also do specific WordPress hosting if you wanted to use the easiest way to setup an adult blog. I’ve hosted lots of websites over the years with HostGator. I’ve always had good experiences with them.
They are the only company that I have experience with. Or at least the only company that provide adult hosting that I have experience of. Here are some others though. Use them at your own risk though because I can’t vouch for them having never been a customer.

Another large company who don’t have a clear policy on 18+ websites is WPEngine. There is nowhere on their website that says it’s not allowed. But be sure to drop them an email first asking if the type of content you’ll have is fine. Obviously it needs to be legal! That’s obvious.
If you are worried about privacy then a company to consider is Abelohost. They are based in Holland and I believe there are certain laws to protect your privacy.
Go cheap or not?
What matters is getting the right package that suits you. This is why it can be wise to avoid cheap adult hosting. For the sake of saving a few bucks you will end up with a slower website with poorer support, that can end up costing you revenue. In this situation you lose money meaning the savings made are wiped out!
The companies mentioned above are the main ones I know of. If none of them suit what you are after though do some Googling and you may find more. Ultimately there is no correct answer as to which is best. Different ones will be best for different people.
How to setup your adult site
This will be specific to the type of site you are creating. As well as your experience level. For that reason there is no “one size fits all” answer here. Be sure to take your time as you go through the process.
If you are running a blog style site then using WordPress is very easy to install. You should be able to do that via your Web Hosting Provider. If you are setting up a tube style site then the script should come with installation instructions. If you are building a bespoke website then I’m sure you know what you’re doing
How about free services?
If you are running a serious business then I would recommend these. If you are only interested in running a tiny website to fill an hour or two per week then these could actually make sense. But if your aim is it to make money from porn then you are going to need to invest a tiny bit of money. But if you want a freebie try Tumblr or Google Blogspot. You will need to mark them as explicit though to avoid them being seen by eyes that don’t want to see them.

Make a big effort with this. Put plans together. Use a good provider as listed above. Before you know it you’ll have some nice residual income earned online from home in a sector that is fun to work in.
