Take Me There Tuesday: Kualoa Regional Park, Oahu

On the windward (eastern) side of Oahu, you’ll find an exceptionally picturesque spot at Kualoa Regional Park. It’s the kind of place that has magnificent views from anywhere you look. Of course the scene towards the ocean is stunning with the always eye-catching Mokoli’i Island, which is more commonly called Chinaman’s Hat. Turn around and admire the he rugged, green mountains. It really is a remarkable spot.

Mokoli’i Island

Kualoa Regional Park is located at 49-479 Kamehameha Highway near Kaneohe. For suggestions of how to incorporate a stop here in your vacation plans, see Day 1 our Oahu itinerary.

By the way, if you watch the new Magnum P.I. television show, this area may look familiar. In the show, the posh home where Juliet and Magnum live appears to be located around this beach park, but that’s all computer generated.

Have you been to this scenic Oahu spot? What did you think of it?
