David Josefsberg has joined the already illustrious cast of Beetlejuice on Broadway.
The Broadway veteran has taken up the role of Adam Maitland from his Honeymoon in Vegas co-star Rob McClure, starting September 24, 2019. Beetlejuice is currently playing at Winter Garden Theatre. David Josefsberg will be taking the role of the kind ghost in the revered play. Alex Timbers directs this classic that has already earned plaudits from the theatre-faithful and the Broadway fraternity. Beetlejuice has earned eight Tony nominations including Best Musical nomination this year. Josefsberg has previously starred in successful Broadway productions like The Prom, Waitress, An Act of God, Honeymoon in Vegas, Motown The Musical, The Wedding Singer, Les Misérables, and Grease. His Off-Broadway role in the Altar Boys received Drama League nomination. David Josefsberg will join the principal cast that includes Alex Brightman as Beetlejuice, Sophia Anne Caruso as Lydia, Kerry Butler as Barbara, Adam Dannheisser as Charles and Leslie Kritzer as Delia.
Beetlejuice has become an audience favorite ever since it was brought on-screen by Tim Burton. The characterization and the storyline made it the perfect movie for a musical adaptation. The score of the movie was created by Eddie Perfect, who was already a Tony nominee. The crew for Alex Timbers’s stage adaptation is quite distinguished as well. It features sets by Tony nominee David Korins, costumes by Tony winner William Ivey Long, lighting design by Tony winner Kenneth Posner and Tony nominee Peter Nigrini, and sound design by Tony nominee Peter Hylenski.

With this crew, there was hardly a doubt about the show. Beetlejuice has been called a “loopy, nutty, loud, winning hoot” by The Daily Beast. Everything about the show comes together to produce hilarious results on-stage. Alex Timbers’s characteristic brilliant use of set and music has also been commended. With the addition of David Josefsberg, the show has received some more star power to attract significantly more business to the Winter Garden Theatre.
