While social distancing and regular sanitization measures are already in place, the travel and Tourism sector at many famous cities of tourist attraction have come up with unique incentives to promote the inflow of visitors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cyprus has been a popular tourism destination for great many years. The government of the Mediterranean island nation recently announced to cover all costs for any tourist who tests positive while visiting Cyprus. The Cypriot government would cover the lodging, food, drinks, and medication for the patients as well as their families.

In the month of April, Japan witnesses a drop of 99.9 per cent in the number of visitors as compared to last year. One of the most popular European travel destinations of all times, Sicily has incurred heavy revenue losses due to the decline in tourism during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to stabilize its tourism sector once again, Sicily is now offering to cover half the flight costs for the travellers, as well as every third night stay at the hotel. The Italian region will also be offering free tickets to archaeological sites and museums to lure the tourists.

Cancun, Mexico

Free stays, discount at theme parks, car rentals, golf courses, and spas – Cancun, Mexico has covered it all as it gets ready to welcome the tourists. As a part of the latest tourism campaign #ComeToMexicoCaribbean, destinations from Cancun to Cozumel will offer two free nights for every two nights paid for, two free days of car rentals for every two days paid for, free stays for up to two children when two adults make a booking, and varied discounts at various theme parks, spas, and golf courses.

With incentives like these, the above-mentioned destinations are practically paying for the visitors’ trip.
