Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner details surface

The Galaxy Note 7 will feature an Iris Scanner; we’ve said it all along, but we’ve also had some help from some renown leaksters in the business, too. Now, we’ve been able to get our hands on some information about what the Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner will bring.

The new Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner, according to some new screenshots shared from Samsung site SamMobile, show that first, the eye scanner will be present on the front of the device and that users will need to position themselves no more than 35cm away from the screen to use the Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner. These are all the directions about the iris scanner that we have for now, but it just goes to show that the details are too specific to be just a mere rumor still.

The Galaxy Note 7, apart from its iris scanner, will feature a 5.7-inch, Quad HD display with a 1440p screen resolution, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/821 SoC, 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of storage, 5MP/12MP camera combo, and a 3,600mAh battery.

The Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner will be the first to appear in a high-end smartphone from a major Android OEM, though the Note 7 isn’t the first Android smartphone to feature an iris scanner. Other phones such as the ViewSonic V55, the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, ZTE Grand S3, and the Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G let users unlock their smartphone via their eye pupils.
