Facebook Plans To Launch An Application For Celebrity Video Makers

VidCon announced today that it plans to launch a new Application for celebrities as part of its bid to compete with YouTube, which is now one of the most prominent public figures in terms of visual communication with fans.

This is not the first time Facebook has focused on celebrities. Years ago, it launched Facebook Mentions, which is now available only to well-documented accountants on its social network, including celebrities, journalists, Internet.

Minshins was the first to support Facebook’s live broadcast feature in August 2015, providing celebrities with a number of special features, including live streaming, chatting with followers, viewing the most on-line topics, and The possibility of sharing the update through different social networking platforms.

As for the new application, which will be launched later this year, it will focus on content makers only, according to Facebook Product Manager Daniel Danker at the Future Video Facebook event at the Fidcon Conference.

“We have not seen a better time to be a content maker on Facebook,” Danker said. “With Facebook you can connect and create a community with your audience and tell stories that are social, personal, and authentic.”

The application will maintain access to the live streaming feature Facebook Live, as well as a new live video creation package, where content creators will have access to special tools including adding editorials and captions to live video. They will also have custom posters that viewers can use and their own frames.
