Let’s have a discussion on a brand new cloud Gaming platform, Google Stadia is a cloud-based gaming platform developed by Google. You can instantly access to your favourite games whether it’s a PC, laptop, tablet, or a smartphone. Yes, It’s Cross-Platform. Doesn’t mind the screen size anymore. Wow sounds cool right?  Stadia would be a great platform for those who play video games as well as those who love watching them. By using the vastly connected network of Google data centres, Stadia players will be totally free from traditional consoles and PCs. Stadia has powerful server class CPU, GPU, memory and storage combining server class hardware stack.

Many people watch the game related contents every day on YouTube. Like trailers, gameplay video etc. These users will be able to play the game with a single click on the “play” button. Suppose you are watching the latest game trailer of the newly released Assassins Creed Odyssey which is the current latest version of Assassins Creed series, you will see a “play now” button. After clicking it you will be running around the ancient Greek empire on your own game or your own adventure with no updates, no downloads, no installs, no patches.

Google also designed a Stadia gaming controller for Stadia gamers. Firstly, the ensured to develop a direct connection from the stadia controller to the Google data centres through a Wi-Fi for ensuring the best gaming experience. Stadia controller has a button for instant capture while gaming, saving and sharing gameplay button for sharing your gameplay up to 4K resolution, also a google assistant button for enabling engagement scenarios, conducting a multiplayer session and sharing gameplay clips. It’s also featured an in-built microphone. Talking about the hardware section Google has chosen AMD which is an American multinational semiconductor company, to design highly performing custom GPU’S to supports google Vulkon and Linux based cloud gaming platform.  AMD processors have already made an impression among the gamers by powering Latest Assassins Creed Odyssey for the Cloud Players as a part of Google’s project stream. Google Chrome browser plays an important role in Stadia, initially, Stadia will be available through Google Chromecast, Google Chrome and Android-powered devices. Google is using Linux language as the OS for empowering the hardware on the server-side. As its cloud gaming, internet connectivity should be high speed. Google is using its own compression system to stream the game in 4K resolution or 1080p devices. Stadia streaming service also uses Artificial Intelligence to apply art styles to the game world in real time.

Sony PlayStation now, a Sony service which started on July 2014 which delivers unlimited access to a growing library over 750 games on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 all with just one subscription. Users are able to stream their favourite games to their PlayStation 4 or their PC, and able to download PlayStation 4 games& PlayStation 2 games to your PlayStation 4.

Microsoft also started to work on their own game streaming service called xCloud during 2013’s. We saw an internal demonstration of Halo 4 which is a first-person shooting game, running on low-end windows phone Nokia Lumia 520, showing the flexibility of their cloud-based game. Microsoft has better Azure networks to power the server side. Microsoft is really powerful while it comes to streaming. The Xbox One feature which allows the gamers to stream the game over a local network. Apart from others, Microsoft is planned to build the controller on the screen itself.
