I believe, as a very loyal Lahori, that Lahore is the heart of Pakistan. I recently moved to Islamabad for a two-month internship, and although the people here are great and the traffic is not that bad, I already miss my hometown. Explaining how it lives in my city is the same as explaining how water tastes. How do you describe the busy streets that you absolutely hate, but that you love at the same time? To better explain the taste of water, I made a list of what I miss most about my city:

1. The food

If you have tasted the delicious taste of the food in Lahore, there is no way back. Known as the food capital of Pakistan, the food that you get back home can not be found in another city!

2. The shopping centers

The difference between Centaurus and Emporium is that, while the first is big and exhausting, Emporium is not that big, but still has a variety of stores. It is just a lot easier to shop.

3. MM Alam Road

Without doubt my favorite street in Lahore. Hungry? Bored? Do you want to shop? MM Alam is the place for you. It is very useful to have the top brands on one road.

4. Freedom

Believe me, when I say that Liberty has the best mango milkshake in the world. Not only that, kasjmiri chai, gol guppay, chana chaat, you name it. And if you get married, Liberty is your one-stop shop.

5. Cantt

You know that you have entered Cantonment when you see the beautiful green, the cleanliness and the big notice boards. It is as if you have stepped into another part of Lahore. It feels like home.

The hustle and bustle of the crowds

The ronak shonak, the rola mela never stops at Lahore. Every second of every day there is always something going on. It motivates you, encourages you to not be a lazy ass and get started!

7. The warmth of the local population

Whatever people say, Lahori & # 39; s are kind and friendly. I do not know them all, but most of them certainly are. It is their smile and their helpfulness that draws you to it.

8. The nightlife

Perhaps I get so much hatred, but Islamabad has a minimal nightlife. After 11 pm you can hardly go to a cafe. Lahore stays open until very late. It is the city that never sleeps.

9. Rickshaws

One of the things that struck me is that there are hardly any riksja & # 39; s available here. I have not used them a lot in Lahore, where you can find one in almost every street, but because I am here car-free, they would have had a lot of help.

10. History

It is not difficult to find Mughal culture and architecture in Lahore, from the Shahi Qila to the Fortress of Lahore. Minar-e-Pakistan is of course also of great importance in making our country. If you live in Lahore, feel the fame and value of the city throughout history.

11. Road surfaces

Yes, the traffic is crazy in Lahore, but all viaducts and new roads have made such a difference. It adds a modern touch to the old city. Shoutout to the viaduct near Sherpao bridge that has made mine and many other lives so much easier.
