Mobile App Development Lifecycle: Every Developer Must Follow 2018

By seeing the statistics, we all can say ‘mobile apps are the future’. Nobody likes to power on the PC, just to order pizza or to book a cab.

When all can be done with a 5-inch small smartphone.

But:

To make a good mobile app, one needs to establish the consumer trust and understand the app market very well. Here, mobile app developers should establish and follow the Mobile App Development lifecycle.

Definitely, developers can adopt any model available out there but there are several key steps present in all of them. Which they need to follow to build the outstanding mobile apps.

In our last post we saw, 7 (Actionable tips) For Building Successful Android Apps. I recommend you to read that post first…

…And in this post, we will see the mobile App Development Lifecycle that every developer must follow!

Mobile App Development Lifecycle:

1. Brainstorm

Every mobile app is built upon an idea. So mobile app development lifecycle starts with ‘Brainstorming’ process.

Here, developers get the exact picture of the product. They get the path from where to make the start. They brainstorm the functionality of the app as well.

This is the least expensive phase as compared to other 4 phases. As one just need the notebook to note down the ideas. But without brainstorming one must not go ahead else there are chances they’ll get stuck at some point in between, as the path may not be clear.

2. App Design

In brainstorming, developers get the path and the clear picture of the product. So in phase 2 i.e app design, they create the design/ layout to see the things visually.

User interface and user experience is everything and one must spend some quality time in designing best UI of the mobile app.

So in this phase, developers try different layouts/ designs and finally lock one design.

Mobile app developers also create the outline of the functions, which will be required during the coding process.

3. Coding and Testing

Once the designer has designed all the screens/ layouts of mobile app and got approval from the client…

The actual coding process begins.

Now all the variables, classes, functions, structures and other elements are coded and compiled. Most of the modern compilers indicate the errors directly, which makes it easier for the developers to fix the errors.

As soon as the application is fully compiled, it can be run in the simulator or in an actual smartphone to test the app in the real world environment.

During this phase, developer monitors everything from the interface to bugs and tries to fix them all. When everything is fixed and the developer is fully confident about the performance of the app, the App is released in the market!

4. Release

In this phase, the app is released in the market. It is uploaded to the respective play store/app store.

Here, the developer monitors the response on the app from the consumers. This is the feedback from the real users, which is noted and fixed in the next update.

The mobile app development lifecycle doesn’t stop here. There is also one more phase that comes after release i.e updates and maintenance.

5. Updates and Maintenance

This is the most important phase in mobile app development lifecycle. Now the developer has all the data and he knows what bugs users are facing and what needs to be fixed.

The developer goes through user comments and solves all the bugs/ errors in this phase.

Conclusion:

So these were the 5 phases of mobile app development lifecycle that every developer should follow.

Before outsourcing mobile app development work, you may consider asking this question to agency/ company, whether they are following this lifecycle or not.

Mobile app development company, SearchNative’s developers follow all the stages very carefully and always give the desired output.
