The emoji for muscles and weightlifting was by far the most popular sports-related emoji on Instagram from July 2015 through this month, with more than five times the instances of the No. 2 emoji, soccer.
Instagram said in an email to SocialTimes that Michael Phelps’ upcoming final Olympic Games appearance at Rio 2016 likely helped propel the swimming emoji to No. 3.
