The Ecmi is currently looking for an intern within the project ‘Career guidance and counselling for vulnerable groups in Serbia’.

About us:

The European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) is an independent research centre in Flensburg/Germany established by agreement between the governments of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Federal Republic of Germany and the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The ECMI conducts interdisciplinary research and practice-oriented projects in the field of minorities in Europe and offers advisory services on various dimensions of minority-majority relations. Minorities according to the ECMI statutes are national minorities and other traditional (autochthonous) ethnic groups. The ECMI operates regional offices in Georgia, Kosovo, and Ukraine. The working language of the Centre is English.

About the project:

The initiative focuses on Roma pupils’ access to Vocational Education. In the frames of this project, a set of good practices in the field of promoting Roma pupils’ access to vocational education in Schleswig-Holstein will be adapted for implementation in Serbia.

Your tasks:

You will support the development of the project and accompany a delegation of Serbian stakeholders throughout the study visit in Kiel and its surroundings between 13-18 May 2019 together with the ECMI staff. Your main task is to identify and summarize relevant policy papers and legislation concerning vocational education in Schleswig-Holstein and translate these summaries into English.

Requirements:

-Excellent command of both German and English language.

-Some knowledge of the vocational education system in Schleswig-Holstein is welcome but not essential.

Start of internship:

In the week 6-10 May

Duration:

2 months

Working hours:

Flexible (with the exception of the week 13-18 May, where full-time attendance is necessary)
