DMK Chief Karunanidhi Stable After Being Admitted To City Hospital, Says Daughter Kanimozhi

The ailing DMK Chief Karunanidhi, who was rushed to the Cauvery Hospital in the city and admitted to the ICU in the midnight of Friday has been stable, as the team of doctors treating him brought his plummeting Blood Pressure levels to normal.

“The blood pressure has been brought to normal after his admission in the hospital and he is stable,” the doctor’s team attending on the veteran politician said.

The hospital has issued a formal statement on the health of the DMK Patriarch saying that the blood pressure which plummeted suddenly on Friday night was brought back to normal by a team of doctors.

Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and daughter of Karunanidhi also clarified that the DMK patriarch is stable.

M. K. Stalin who earlier left Gopalapuram residence of his father on Friday evening as his father’s condition was improving had to rush back to the Gopalapuram when a mid-night emergency was reported with regard to the decline in the health condition of his father, as his blood pressure plummeted necessitating emergency care.

In the meanwhile, as words spread about the hospitalization of “Kalaignar” Karunanidhi, a die-hard supporter of the five-time chief minister thronged in front of the hospital and raised slogans “Long live Thalaivar (leader)”

The estranged elder son M.K. Alagiri was also in the Cauvery hospitals with other leaders as he rushed from Madurai on hearing the news.

Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit also visited the Cauvery hospital and enquired about the veteran’ health to M.K. Stalin.
