London-based Italian duo M w S delves into the toxic side of the deep Relationship between soul mates in their lo-fi ballad ‘Nobody’ which is out today.

Soft, soulful and a rhythm that keeps you swaying from side to side, the Song explores the relationship between ‘soul mates’. When you think of soulmates you think of stolen glances and a love like no other. But this relationship can go from glossy, sugar-coated love to something that destroys you and yet is impossible to walk away or escape from. As the lyrics of this track so powerfully bring forth.

With a sound based on soulful electronic beats, samples that hold up minimal guitar riffs and a warm, gentle but extremely catchy voice, the duo’s soul, pop and R&B influences - reminiscent of artists such as Erykah Badu, Norah Jones, Sade and Amy Winehouse - shines through in the song, as it smoothly glides with clipped guitars lines, synths, stylish vocals and snappy lyrics, all of which blend to form a piece of work that is a pleasure to the ears.

'Nobody' is a song that creates a trance-inducing, hypnotic and jazzy atmosphere as it mixes with abstract beats by French producer Smthbts. Its minimalist yet Impactful lyrics shine through, especially in the chorus, “Nobody can take me down like you do. Nobody knows me like you do”- sung in crystal clear, catchy vocals.

The duo formed in 2014 and launched their first EP, a collaboration with different producers in their home country, after moving to London. Songs of delicate songwriting and execution which blends Italian romanticism with Britains own soulful history, that's the kind of music M w S gives us.
