Travel: Why You Won’t Want to Miss Out on Atlanta’s Oktoberfest in the Park

There’s no need to fly all the way to Germany for an authentic Oktoberfest experience. Atlanta provides one closer to home. Read on to find out what to expect when you visit.

About Atlanta Oktoberfest in the Park

The 2022 Atlanta Oktoberfest will be taking place from September 30 to October 2 in Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark. It is advertised as Atlanta’s biggest German-themed party. Hours are as follows:

• Friday: 4-10 PM

• Saturday: 11AM – 11PM

• Sunday: noon – 6PM

Ticketing

You can purchase general admission or a VIP Bier Lovers Pass.

General Admission includes:

• Entry to the festival

• A souvenir 22 oz. bier stein

• The first 22 oz. fill up of Arches Brewing Beer

Pricing for general admission is:

• Friday: $25

• Saturday: $35

• Sunday: $35

• Weekend pass for Saturday and Sunday: $60

• Three-day pass: $85

The VIP Bier Lovers Pass includes:

• Single day entry to the festival

• A 25 oz. glass beer stein

• The first 25 oz. fill up of Arches Brewing Beer

• (4) 25 oz. beer tickets

• A souvenir t-shirt and sunglasses

• Complimentary catering

• Access to the VIP zone with private restrooms

Pricing for the VIP package is as follows:

• Friday: $85

• Saturday: $110

• Sunday: $85

• Three-day pass: $250

Designated driver tickets are also available. They are $10 and come with a 22 oz. beer stein. Guests 16-20 must purchase a designated driver ticket to attend. Kids 15 and under are free.

Activities and Entertainment

Here is what you can look forward to when you attend the Atlanta Oktoberfest:

• Ceremonial Keg Tapping: The keg tapping will kick off the event on Friday. Celebrity keg tapper TBA.

• Stein Hosting: Whoever can hold a full 25 oz. stein of beer with their arm outstretched the longest wins. Prizes will be awarded. There are separate men’s and women’s divisions.

• Keg Rolling: Competitors will run a keg along the course and back to determine who can complete the race the fastest.

• Brat Toss: Teams of two will toss a brat back and forth moving further and further away from each other. The team that can toss the brat over the longest distance wins.

• Pretzel Toss: Competitors try to toss their pretzel over a peg.

• Dog Parade: Dogs are judged on best dressed and best behaved. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

• Live Music: A variety of bands will be playing pop, rock, and traditional German music.

Food and Drink

Food vendors will be serving German specialties including brats, sausages, German potato salad, schnitzel, Bavarian pretzels and more. Prices range from $6 - $12.

There will be beer tents set up throughout the park offering a variety of frosty brews including German beer, and Oktoberfest inspired craft beers. Wine, spiked seltzer, and craft cocktails will be served as well Water and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
