How I’m Living the Dream Life
When will I Quit my job? I’m tired of the 9–5 life, and I can’t wait to start my own Business.
I want to become my own boss.
Life is funny. They always told me that I should be careful of what I wish for, cause they might come true.
And that was the case. My wish came true, and here I am lounging in my Balinese villa and enjoying the view. I am my own boss, and I don’t have to report to my 9–5 job.
Is this a dream? Is this reality?
Entrepreneurship is the coolest thing. If you are employed, you’re not part of the cool kids. When did this phenomenon start? Is everyone truly fit for the entrep life?
Was I sold on an ideology that is only built for the top one percent of society? If it was so easy, then everyone should be doing it. They say that 95% of businesses close their doors after five years.
So is quitting your job the answer? Is starting your business the only viable way to achieve financial independence?
I did get my dream of quitting my job and starting my own business. But it’s not as easy as it sounds. I am eight months into unemployment, and I still don’t have a running business to show for. Yes, I’ve been working on it for the past three months, but I’m not making any real money yet. I’ve always thought that I’d make it rain in one month. But I guess entrepreneurship is more laborious than how they make it seem.
It’s nowhere close to Living a dream life.
So I won’t tell you to quit your job and start a business. The frustration and negative emotions I’m feeling right now are not far from what I’ve experienced when I was working for someone else. The stress levels are higher compared to having a day job.
There will always be suffering and problems whatever road you take. There will still be roadblocks and challenges. You just choose what kind of stress you’d want in life.
In times of fatigue and exhaustion, I ask myself why I am doing this. And it reminds me why I left my job and why I’m choosing entrepreneurship over employment.
I hope you find your answer.
Talk to you soon my friend.
