The second annual Halifax Oyster Festival a premier oyster event in Halifax, Nova Scotia will take place on Saturday October 1, 2016.
Tickets are $65, which includes all you can eat oysters per session (3 hours), an oyster shucking competition, and a sample of Nova 7 Sparkling Wine with additional beer, wine, and craft spirits available for purchase.
For those unfamiliar with Halifax, Nova Scotia, it is Canada’s rugged Atlantic coast, and a top destination to discover oysters and other world-class seafood.
This unique event caters to both cultural explorers and local tourists. Visitors will experience the salty air of the Halifax waterfront and sample some of the best oysters the world as to offer as well as great beer and wine.
This year we the festival is featuring 16 different oyster farmers from Nova Scotia, PEI, NB and even British Columbia. Learn more about the oyster farmers here. Nova Scotia produces over 4 million oysters, and 85% are exported. By 2022, the growers are looking to increase production by 400%.
