Indian origin people named as Times 'Person Of The Year' & 'Kid of the Year' 2020


The TIME magazine today named US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect, Indian origin Kamala Harris as TIMES Person of the Year 2020.  They were honored for  "Changing America's story" with their election victory over Donald Trump. They have been chosen from a list of finalists that included frontline health care workers and Anthony Fauci, the racial justice movement and President Trump.


Kamala and Joe have been picked "For changing the American story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world," the magazine explained .

4 days ago 15-year-old Indian origin girl Gitanjali Rao was chosen as the first-ever ‘Kid of the Year’ by Time magazine for her astonishing and ground-breaking work as a scientist and innovator who used technology to tackle issues from contaminated drinking water to opioid addiction and cyberbullying.
