Solid Clay Bricks are made up of Silica, Allumina and Lime using machine moulding or hand moudling. They are used for load bearing or non load bearing wall based upon their compression strength. This buying guide would help in you making a better buying decision.
Shape of the Brick
The brick shall be rectangular in shape, have sharp edges and be conveniently handled with one hand.
Colour of the Brick
The bricks shall be of deep red or cherry colour. Overburned bricks shall not be used has they develop soft molten mass which make the brick to loose its shape. Under Burned brick are highly porous and absorb more water. Over burned and under burned shall not be used for construction purposes.
Water Absorption
The brick when immersed in water for 24 hours should not weight more than 20% of its dry weight. Higher the water absorption, Higher the porosity which shall be not used for construction purposes
Compressive Strength
The brick shall not be less than 10 Newton /mm2. The brick shall not break when dropped from 1 Meter height on to flat surface. Higher the compression strength better the quality of the bricks
Standard Size
The standard size of the table mould brick is 4" (L 230 X W 100 X H 75mm)and they weigh in range of 3- 3.5 Kgs per piece. A normal truck load size is 3000 Nos of Bricks.
