Barnala, December 10, 2017: The vice-president of the state women wing of Akali Dal was allegedly molested, thrashed and her Braid Chopped off. The police have booked four persons in the case. The alleged accused have been identified as Somnath Soni, Vijay Kumar Bunty, Kamaldeep Sharma and Rajwinder Kaur Rani.

The Woman leader, who is also district women unit president, was admitted in hospital.

A video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Sources told mediaperson that the said woman was close to a mahant of a dera in Tapa Mandi. This has for long been known among area people. The family of mahant was allegedly furious over this.

It is learnt that those involved in the incident included a woman of the mahant’s family. The mahant owns dera land spread over several hundred acre.
