The Spaniard's Kiss is one of those books that you can pick up knowing it will have a feel good vibe to it. Before starting you know that things will end well, and that it ultimately is a trope Book. But sometimes that is exactly what you need as a reader, something easy and fun.
There was good chemistry between Bella and Rafe, even when they were trying to deny themselves of what was between them. Very early in the book they both accepted that they were attracted to one another, but there was more at play than that.
Bella's dead husband did throw a slight complication in there. Bella loved him, but didn't have the same connection as she did with Rafe (again this plays into the trope). On the other hand he was Rafe's best friend until he died, making him feel slightly guilty. However Gary's father was a character in the book, which I think helped with how Gary could have felt about the new relationship.
From the off, Rafe seemed very hesitant about the baby thing, and it is clear from the beginning that there is more to it than that. However it does take time for the truth to come out, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting but it really added to the story.
This was a great easy read, I enjoyed diving into Bella and Rafe's relationship.
