Less discussed highly controversial consecutive bans have been witnessed by the Indians. Indian government puts bizarre bans on issues which can be more claiming to the rights of an individual..
Some bans include:
1)BAN ON BEEF IN MAHARASHTRA:
President Pranab Mukherjee approved the amended Maharashtra Animal Preservation Bill 1995, banning slaughter of water buffaloes. Anyone violating should pay a heavy toll of 10000rs or 5years of imprisonment. The reactions of people totally went towards dismay for the steak lovers. This law is totally an intrusion to one’s fundamental rights. Eating what one loves is an integral issue and not a socio-political issue to be checked up on by cops investigating door to door to check up on your meal. Cops rather have more national security issues to take on being watchdogs of evils not meat lovers.
2)Ban on release of BBC’s documentary INDIA’S DAUGTER IN INDIA:
This documentary by filmmaker LESLEE UDWIN which presented the story cover of Indian daughter Nirbhaya who was victim of gang rape has been banned by government propagating it has anti women statements by the rapist. Indian government’s decision to ban it was a clear murder of Indian feeling of hostility against the rapist who’s death is most awaited by Indian mob.
3)BAN ON MOVIES SUCH AS FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, DIRTY POLITICS, PAANCH etc
Indian government could manage to ban Fifty Shades Of Grey but could not manage the adult content to be watched only by adults. It never could manage to give fast justice to rape victims as well.
4)BAN ON PORNOGRAPHY:
Indian telecom ministry managed to ban 857 porn sites in India. Banning porn for youth is not a solution. Banning of groping, eve teasing, molesting and non consent sex is rather. Indian government needs to pay hay to greater issues such as women security and empowerment, check on child sex workers, and censor of cuss words and vulgar dances on item songs by women taking them to standards of mere object in society.
