Today , I am gonna introduce you to a Phrase that can take away your happiness , a phrase that can make you hide under your bed , a phrase that chills the spine of youngsters.
No , it isn’t ‘ No internet ‘ , it’s – Exam tomorrow . The dread of these words is known worldwide.
Exam fear is a situation when you have a test coming and you are unable to study for it because you are busy dreading it. I will leave the irony to sort out itself here.
Our teachers usually reminds us of our exams months before them. We may even take a vow to start preparing from then itself. But the actual preparation starts one month before exams. Mine always does.
And that month always passes with various tensions and obstacles.
Like , this year I was unable to find my Business Studies notebook and had to beg for notes on WhatsApp.
And a day after that exam , which was the last one , I discovered it tucked neatly in my cupboard. I was incensed I tell you!
Another part of our preparation is exchanging our ‘progress’ with friends. And in this process we usually exchange much more futile things , one of which is rumours.
Before an exam , many rumours starts to rife. There are optimistic ones like , the Paper was made by the most incompetent teacher , last year’s paper was very difficult so this time it’s gonna be easy , etc. While there are pessimistic ones also , particularly concerning maths exam , like , There will be nothing from ncert or One of the strict teachers will check our papers and many more.
These rumours do nothing but raise the nervousness in the air , already so high , to its peak.
And there is always that friend who phones everyone he knows for an update on their progress. And then to make matters worse , he starts recounting his own schedule , preparation , completed syllabus , etc , which is always more than yours.
Though I am well enough in studies , but I too get stressed before one. Even then I behave like , ‘it’s just an exam , buddy! Stay calm!’ , while I can barely stop myself from biting my nails.
But what I dread more than an exam is the night before it. Tossing and turning , I can never go to sleep. I will get up and revise half my syllabus then fall asleep on the couch to dream about missing the paper.
All due to exam nerves!
And I do have a paper tomorrow.
Bye for now.
