Now we know for a fact that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are reuniting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. Although an official confirmation on the same is yet to be made but reports confirm, Ranveer plays Sultan Allaudin Khilji – an emperor who was madly in love with Chittor’s Rani Padmavati played by Deepika. But having said that, the periodic drama also has this another important character – that of Padmavati’s husband Raja Ratansen. While speculations suggest Fawad Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan have been approached for this role – we wanna know who do you wish to see as Deepika’s husband in the film?

Fawad Khan

Fawad and Deepika look heavenly together, the proof of which came very evident during Manish Malhotra’s fashion show this year. Or say for that matter even during IIFA 2016 when Fawad went down on his knees, sang songs for Deepika. Oh! That moment! They connected so beautifully that you could actually visualise them romancing on the big screen. So making Fawad play Deepika’s husband would only mean a dreamy pairing in the making. But of course, our source exclusively suggests that Fawad won’t be taking up this role firstly – coz it’s more like a supporting role and secondly coz he has signed a three film deal with Dharma Productions. So will things work out or no? Only time will tell!

Shah Rukh Khan

Although not much has been confirmed about Shah Rukh. But word is that SRK too has been approached by Bhansali to play DP’s husband and it’s got us really excited. I mean, don’t you wish to see Deepika and SRK reunite for the third time after Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express? He’ll be a great choice but again, SRK playing a smaller role in comparison to Ranveer might just not work in favour.

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid is probably the frontrunner in this race right now and we can’t get any happier than this. I mean, don’t you think they’ll look ridiculously hot together? Add to that, the film is also said to feature a few intimate moments between Rani Padmavati and her husband. So if at all Shahid bags this role, how hot will their romance look onscreen? We can’t contain our excitement!

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik is very good with doing periodic films. He featured in Jodha Akbar and now he will also be seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s  Mohenjo Daro which is releasing next month. So doing this little yet important role opposite Deepika in Padmavati would only give his fans more reasons to rave about him. Haven’t we been longing to see DP with Hrithik?

Sushant Singh Rajput

And last but not the least, we are adding Sushant to this list because we really feel he’ll be a great choice to play Deepika’s husband in this periodic venture. We believe Sushant has that spunk in him to stand out in a film, even if it’s just a supporting role. What do you think?
