Hina Khan‘s comments related to South industry has left everyone fuming. She has crossed the line here by stating that the film industry down South seeks actresses with ‘bulging’ assets. She even narrates how she was also asked to put on weight for two big South films. She rejected them both for that very reason. That’s when Hina mentions that she was approached for a big film where Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh were coming together after many years. That made us dig up and we think we found which film she was talking about. According to Wikipedia, it released in 2013 and was titled Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. The film was second highest grossing Telugu film of the year! No wonder Hina is regretting letting that pass.

The film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Anjali along with Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu. It was one of the biggest films as it had two superstars in one film. It was considered the most star-studded film in last 2 to 3 decades and had released on January 11, 2013. Venkatesh and Mahesh played brothers in the film. Apparently, the distributors’ share for the film was Rs 55 crore when the film was made at a budget of Rs 50 crore. It is a story of a middle-class family run by a Good Samaritan father. He has two sons who are well-educated but unemployed. How the father instils lessons of love in them and others around him forms the crux of the film.

So if this is the film Hina rejected, we are pretty sure she will always live with this regret. It is surprising how Bollywood has not yet remade this which sounds like a sureshot family entertainer.
