Seldom there comes a movie that seems to shatter the larger-than-life glitzy image that has been embedded in our minds by Bollywood.
The upcoming release, For Here Or To Go, seems to be exactly the kind. Quite contrary to shown in most Bollywood movies, the life as an immigrant in America is NOT always easy-breezy and glitzy. Dealing with tons of paperwork, trying to blend-in yet standing out and an uncertain future- all these and much more have also been the part of Desis Living in America yet these aspects have not been tackled efficiently on the silver screen until now.
For Here Or To Go trailer is out and it is quite an intense and emotional roller coaster ride. The movie stars Ali Fazal, Melanie Chandra, Rajit Kapur and Omi Vaidya. Written by Rishi S. Bhilawadikar and directed by Rucha Humnabadkar, the movie is based on true events and is, needless to say, undoubtedly is a perfectly timed story.
The trailer begins with grinning Amitosh Nagpal’s character dealing with American lingo. As the saleswoman asks him “For here or to go?” for a food order, the clueless Nagpal starts explaining his living status while Ali Fazal’s character finds it resonating with his current dilemma.
It turns out that Fazal is a successful engineer in California ready to spearhead a startup and make it big in the world. Living with Fazal are two more starry-eyed young Indian professionals who are at different stages of their stay in the Silicon Valley.
Fazal’s successful run is cut short due to uncertainties over his visa renewal. What follows are turbulent times when he realizes that his work, his name, and his achievements come to nothing when it comes to his living status in America. Will he leave or will he stay? Is America truly his home or it is just an illusion?
Well, the trailer has definitely left us piqued with curiosity. We can’t wait for July 6 when this production of Many Cups Of Chai is scheduled to hit cinemas. Watch the trailer right here and be ready for a surprise:
