Job Description Hewlett Packard Careers Job Vacancy for Support Engineer in February 2021:
Technical Skills:
Strong Knowledge in installing and configuring all flavours of ESXi and VCenter server.
Troubleshooting Knowledge on ESXi and VCenter performance issues.
Strong knowledge on troubleshooting issues on compute and storage.
Troubleshooting vSphere storage, plugin & vSphere networking issues.
VM Build of 2012/2016/2019 servers request from users for all the environments (Development/QA, Staging & Production)
Upgrade/Downgrade of Victual Machines Memory & vCPU.
Extend/Delete Virtual machine disks and reconfigure disks with different formats and reclaim disk space to datastores
VMware tools and VM hardware version Upgrade using Update Manager
Monitoring of VM’s & ESX servers (CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network Utilization)
Deploying VM’s from Templates, Cloning an Existing VM as per the client request through Service requests.
Taking Snapshots, Deleting/Consolidating Snapshots, and Generate Memory Dumps from snapshot files.
Troubleshooting various ESXi Hosts ESXi host disconnected/not responding, ESXi host memory & CPU degradation ,PSOD and others.
Experience on Configuring Datastore to ESXi server using NFS, LUN and iSCSI. Create/Extend NFS and SAN Datastores by Co-ordinating with Storage team.
Restore Virtual Machines from Datastore Snapshots, Commvault Backups.
Some experience on ESXi CLI Commands and PowerShell & PowerCLI scripting
Good knowledge on SAN technologies and converged solutions like VMware vSAN & HyperConverged products, HP Blade Servers, Rackmount, SAN, NAS & DAS, Hyper-V/clustering, power CLI, break/fix etc.
Good understanding on the Basics of Linux (VI, directory structures, scripting) and Networking (Vlan, analysing switch logs, jumbo frames, flow control)
Understanding of VMware Site Recovery Manager for disaster recovery
Knowledge on Virtual Machine snapshots and VMware VDP
Understanding of vSphere Cluster Services (HA, DRS, DPM, EVC)
Additional skills – Understanding of database SQL/Postgress, etc.
