The Indian Railways was started in the Year 1853. The Indian Railways was nationalized in 1951. RRB Allahabad
Initially, as an experimental measure, a Service Commission was formed. This Service Commission consisted of a Chairman, Two Members. This was established to accomplish the recruitment of Subordinate Staff in the North Western Railway Zone. It was formed in te year 1942. The Railway Board has formed other Service Commissions at various other places like Bombay, Calcutta, Madras & lucknow.
RRB Mumbai
Railway Recruitment Board Mumbai ( RRB Mumbai ) works under the Ministry of Railways, the Government of India. The RRB Mumbai is primarily responsible for recruiting the eligible candidates in the Posts of Group C Staff. The RRB Mumbai recruits the candidates in Mumbai Division & Head Quarters of Western Railway, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur, Bhuswal Division, Head Quarters of Central Railway, Nanded Division of South Central Railway & Nagpur Division of South East Central Railway. RRB Mumbai was earlier known as Railway Service Commission ).
RRB Jammu & Srinagar
RRB Jammu & Srinagar was formed in the year 1983. Its main function is to recruit the candidates in the Posts of Group C for Firozepur Division of Northern Railway, Patiala & Kapurthala. It has a Chairman, an Assistant Secretary & Non Gazetted Staff. The RRB ( Railway Recruitment Board ) works under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It conducts Examination for recruiting the eligible candidates in the Gazetted & Non Gazetted Posts.
RRB Malda
In the beginning, the Railway Recruitment Board Malda ( RRB Malda ) was formed as Railway Service Commission in the year 1984. Later, in the year 1985, it was named as Railway Recruitment Board Malda ( RRB Malda ). The RRB Malda is responsible for the Recruitment of the eligible personnel in the Group C Staff Posts. It is responsible for the recruitment in some of the Divisions of Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, NorthEast Frontier Railway & Some Productions. The Office of RRB Malda consists of a Chairman, Assistant Secretary & other Staff.
Indian Railways – RRB Secunderabad
The Railway Recruitment Board of Secunderabad ( RRB Secunderabad ) was formed in the year 1978. This RRB Secunderabad is resonsible for the employment of candidates in all divisions, Head Quarters & Workshops of South Central Railway. RRB Secunderabad functions under the Indian Railways, the Government of India. Due to the formation of New Zones, the reorganization of RRB Secunderabad was made. At present, the Divisions of RRB Secunderabad consists of Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal, Secunderabad, all Divisions, all Workshops, all Headquarters of South Central Railway ( SCR ), Indian Institute of Signal Engineering & Telecommunications, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam Divisions of East Coast Railway ( ECR ).
RRB Kolkata
The Railway Recruitment Board Kolkata ( RRB Kolkata ) was formed before few decades. The Recruitment Jurisdiction of Kolkata includes Eastern Railway, Head Quarters Office of Eastern Railway, Howrah Division, South Easter Railway, Head Quarters Office of South Eastern Railway & Kharagpur Division, Chittaranjan Locomotive works, Metro Rail Kolkata. It is responsible for the recruitment of the eligible candidates in the posts of Group C. The Members in the RRB Kolkata include Chairman, Member Secretary, Secretary, Group C Staff & Group D Staff.
RRB Siliguri
The Railway Recruitment Board, Siliguri was formed in the Financial Year 2009 – 2010. RRB Siliguri is the 21st RRB of the Indian Railways. It functions under the Railway Recruitment Control Board, Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, New Delhi. The Recruitment Jurisdiction of Railway Recruitment Board, Siliguri consists of Alipurdwar Division & Katihar Division. There includes a Chairman, Assistant Secretary, Group C as well as Group D Staff in the Office of RRB Siliguri.
RRB Gorakhpur
The Railway Service Commission, Gorakhpur was formed on the Date of 14th July, 1984. In the beginning, it functions alongwith RRB Muzaffarpur for recruiting candidates in the North Eastern Railway. Later in the month of january, 1985 The Railway Service Commission was named as Railway Recruitment Board. All the Railway Recruitment Boards in India came under the head of Railway Recruitment Control Board ( RRCB ). RRCB was formed by the Ministry of Railways. Due to reorganization of Zonal Railways which was made in the year 2002, the RRB Muxaffarpur was included in the East Central railway & RRB Gorakhpur was included in the North Eastern Railways. RRB Gorakhpur recruits the Group C Staff of Head Offices, Izatnagar, Lucknow & Varanasi Divisions of North Eastern Railway, all Research Designs & Standards of Organization ( RDSO ), Lucknow.
RRB Ahmedabad
The establishment of the Railway Recruitment Board Ahmedabad ( RRB Ahmedabad ) was made in the year 1982. The main objective of forming this is to recruit the eligible employees in the Posts of Group C Staff. It is only responsible for the recruitment in its Jurisdiction. the RRB Ahmedabad Jurisdiction includes Ahmedabad Division, Vadodara Division, Rajkot Division, Bhavnagar Division, Stores Depots Sabarmati, Mechanical Workshop – Pratapnagar, Mechanical Workshop – Bhavnagar, Signal Workshop & Engineering Workshop – Sabarmati, Construction Organization of Western Railway.
RRB Bangalore
The Railway Service Commissions were renamed as Railway Recruitment Boards ( RRB’s ) in the month of January, 1985. All the Railway Recruitment Boards are controlled by the Railway Recruitment Control Board ( RRCB ) from 1998. The Railway Recruitment Control Board ( RRCB ) is controlled by Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Railway Recruitment Board, Bangalore is one among the Twenty One Railway Recruitment Boards in the country. RRB Thiruvananthapuram
Railway Recruitment Board, Thiruvananthapuram ( RRB Thiruvananthapuram ) was set up in the month of March, 1983. This Railway Recruitment Board, Thiruvananthapuram works under the Ministry of Indian Railways. The candidates are selected based on the merit. The RRB Thiruvananthapuram is responsible for the recruitment of the candidates in the existing vacancies in the areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Palghat & Madhurai of Southern Railway ( SR ). This Railway RRB Thiruvananthapuram functions the same as the any other Railway Recruitment Board.
RRB Ajmer
The Railway Recruitment Board, Ajmer ( RRB Ajmer ) was set up in the year 1983. In the year, 1985 was renamed as Railway Recruitment Board. The RRB Ajmer operates under the Ministry of Indian Railways. Ministry of Indian Railways works under the Government of India. The RRB Ajmer is only responsible for recruiting the eligible candidates in the existing vacancies in the Posts of Staff (Group – C Posts ). The Railway Recruitment Board, Bhopal ( RRB Bhopal ) was formed on the 23rd day of September, 1982. RRB Bhopal was renamed after its former name Railway Service Commission in the month of January, 1985. The RRB Bhopal came under the control of the Railway Recruitment Control Board in the year 1998. The Railway Recruitment Control Board ( RRCB ) was set up by the Ministry of Indian Railways, Government of India. It was set up to co – ordinate the functioning of the Railway Recruitment Boards. The Railway Recruitment Board Bhopal ( RRB Bhopal ) is responsible for the recruitment in the Posts of Group C for the Office of Head Quarters, Jabalpur & Bhopal Divisions of West Central Railway (WCR), some Divisions of Western Railway ( WR ).
RRB Bhilaspur
The Railway Recruitent Board was set up with a view to appoint the eligible candidates in the existing vacancies of various posts. The Railway Recruitment Board Bilaspur ( RRB Bilaspur ) is also setup to conduct the recruitment process in the areas or regions which are included in the Jurisdiction od RRB Bilaspur. If there are large number of candidates who were qualified in the Preliminary Exam, they should attend the second stage of Selection which is Mains Examination. The candidates who are qualified in the mains have to attend an Interview. According to their performance in the Interview, they are selected for the specific posts.
