SSB Recruitment 2018 : SSB is abbreviated as Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB). We can also abbreviated SSB as Special Service Bureau(SSB). SSB was established in the year 1963, on 20th December. The Organisation SSB is serves as the Central Armed Police Forces. The Special Service Bureau was controlled and managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. The main motto of the SSB organisation is to provide armed support for the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The main objectives including in this organisation such as motivation, training, development, welfare programmes, and other activities to inculcating the feelings of the national belonging in the border population. Mainly the programmes are conducted in the areas of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and later extend to Manipur, Tripura, Jammu, Megalaya, Skkim, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Kashmir.

The first aim of the SSB Organisation is to provide an act of aggression by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). In the Past the SSB had achievements in training in the Mukti Bahini in Bangladesh and other places in the north east. In the past SSB is called as the Sahastra Seema Bal but now it has renamed as the Special Service Bureau.

SSB Recruitment 2018

According to the rules of the Cabinet, the Special Service Bureau (SSB) was shifted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and managing the duties of the Nepal and Buttan borders. And at the same time the SSB was renamed as Sahastra Seema Bal and would come under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in January 2001. By the recommendations of the group of ministers on reforming the national security system, SSB was recognized as the Border Guarding Force and Lead Intelligence Agency for Indo-Nepal border.

After declaration of Border Guarding Force and Lead  Intelligence Agency the SSB, was assigned the task of guarding for the different states. By dong all these programmess the SSB, was renamed into Sahastra Seema Bal and reached the new aims. SSB is decided to recruit the women battalions which is named as the first border guarding force. SSB is the best managing organisation of the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Buttan Border.

The Special Service Bureau is also managing the internal security duties such as Election duties and Law duties. The year 2013 is the best year for the SSB, and it celebrated as a Golden Jubilee year marking 50 years of its raising. The special event in the celebrations is the Flag off a Mount Everest Expedition on April 2nd 2013. The main aim of the SSB is to provide motivation and mobilization in the India’s border population.

The Special Service Bureau or Sahastra Seema Bal is presently managing the rules consists of preventing cross-border crime and smuggling as well as other anti-national activities. For achieving the important tasks, the SSB is conferred with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Act 1973. Mainly the acts are exercised in the states of Uttarkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Skkim, Assam , Arunachal Pradesh and many other nearest borders of the India.

The SSB has the headquaters as the Force Headquarters (FHQ) and is also called as the Directorate- General of SSB, located in the Indian Capital of New Delhi. The Directorate- General is managing the rules and that are assisted by the Additional Director-General. The SSB is including the operations such as Intelligence, Personnel and Training, Administration, Provisioning and Communication, Medical as well as others are assisted by the Additional Director-General.

The SSB Battalion is assigned by an officer of the rank of commandant  and who is assisted by the officer of the rank of the Second Deputy Commandant and Assistant Commandant. After celebrating the many years the Battalion is further divided in to the Companies . Mainly the companies are divided in to seven and each company consisting of three border outposts.
