The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that students will have a provision to Pursue Full time dual academic programmes. The Set of guidelines regarding the program is available on the official website i.e ugc.ac.in.The guidelines will apply to all programmes across the country.

Students can now choose a combination of a diploma programme and Undergraduate Degree programme. If a student who is eligible to pursue a post graduate degree and also wants to enrol in a Bachelor's degree in a different domain. He/ She is now eligible to pursue both degrees simultaneously with out overlapping the class time for both the programmes.

Earlier UGC regulations didn't allow students to pursue two full programmes at a time.UGC allowed students to pursue only one full time degree along with online /diploma courses. Now NEP 2020  emphasises the need to facilitate multiple ways to learn various education programmes. The combination of both online and offline modes will provide more freedom to learn multiple skills.

Students will be able to pursue dual degree programmes across multiple domains such as sciences, arts, social sciences, humanities and a wide variety of disciplines. These programmes will be implemented only after the approval of the statutory bodies of various universities. Universities will have the flexibility to decide whether they want to offer dual academic programmes.

The eligiility criteria remains unchanged and the admission procedure will go as according to existing UGC norms.Students can now join one program in physical mode and other in Online mode.They can even pursue two online degrees simultaneously that helps to gain diverse skills. UGC doesn't mandate any attendance criteria and it depends on university policies.
