Embedded System is an electronic system which is a combination of hardware and Software platform to perform a specific task in a given time. For Eg. Remember the functionality of a semi automatic washing machine, User sets the timer, waterlevel and amount of detergent to be used so that the rest of  tasks will be done by machine itself. It is an Embedded system inside a washing machine which gets inputs from  user and saves those information in the memory and performs operations as according to user inputs. Here Embedded system is the brain of washing machine system.

Embedded system comprises of three things 1. Input device 2.Micro controller( The Brain) and 3. Output Device. Input device collects input from the user. It can be done via remote control or sensor. Micro controller is the brain and it is the main processing unit and it performs the ouput as according to the instructions given by user and as per the logic defined inside it. Output device collects the instructions from Microcontroller and performs actions as accordingly.

If you have a logic in your mind, you can write a code inside the microcontroller and it performs output as according to code written inside it. The Microcontroller keeps on executing the operation until the power is on.Mostly the code is written in "Embedded C" programming language.
