A little secret from me, I hate giving tests. I find they do not give an accurate assessment as to where the child is really hold. Pair that with a child who is a poor test taker and we get no where. I am always on the hunt for new assesment tools. Before I continue, it is amazing but KleenSlate seems to have all of my answers.

How to Test Students Without Giving Tests

One way to check if students know their work is to give an example to one child at a time. While you work through this example, the rest of the class can use the answer paddles from KleenSlate to work out the example. When everyone is done, just give a glance around the classroom and you will find your students who need additional time. No tests and everyone is having fun.

These paddles are amazing. They have a fairly large surface so the student can work well within the area. The paddle has a place to store a dry erase marker and a ring for a micro fiber cloth. With everything contained on the paddle, every student has exactly what they need when they need it.
