Book Summary

This book was written in a cute rhyming way. The illustrations are amazing and the text is very catchy. In a world when many children are not so fond of reading, this book is sure to spark some passion in your learners.

Pros:

Just Read! talks about reading in a fun way. Many children do not read enough. Seeing how reading can be both fun and silly is a great way to encourage a love of reading.

How to Encourage Reading:

After reading Just Read! with your learner, it is time to help them find a love of reading. The best way to keep this passion alive is to read yourself.

Parents: Over the weekends and school breaks turn reading into a trip. Go to the local library. Both you and your child should pick out a book and find a new location to read. Some ideas can be a local park, coffee shop, or drive up to the mountains for a few hours.

Teachers: Make quite reading part of your regular routine. Have some fun with your students and read quietly along with them. Let your students see that you love reading for fun and it’s not all about classwork.

My Opinion:

It makes me sad to hear one of my students roll their eyes and complain about reading. Reading is so important. Just Read! is a book like no other. It is a fun book that has the potential to spark a passion in many children.
