It's Cool to be Kind...
January 23rd to January 27th is recognized as Great Kindness Challenge Week! This is a week where schools strive to spread kindness throughout their communities.
The Great Kindness initiative is a global campaign spearheaded by Kids for Peace. It promotes kindness and provides positive, action-based bullying prevention that aid in creating a culture of kindness, compassion, unity, and respect.
Kindness is a strength, and one kind act can lead to a chain reaction of love and kindness. The Great Kindness Challenge believes that if you make a habit out of being kind, peace is made possible.
How CalPac is Celebrating
CalPac has lots of fun activities planned for the Great Kindness Challenge. We hope to encourage our students to show some kindness – to themselves, their families, and others! We will be exploring why kindness matters through reading and activities! Art Enrichment teacher Brittany Lutz had art students put together an amazing “Kindness Village”. Visit the village to see how Calpac students shared their kindness!
The K-8 team will be encouraging students to mark acts of kindness off of their Kindness Checklist as well! We spoke to CalPac faculty to get some ideas on how to be kind, check them out below:
