Try This Pumpkin Print Craft!
Halloween is almost here, so that means it’s time to get crafty! There is no better fall activity than getting together with friends or family, sipping on some hot cider, and working on a fun Fall Craft!
CalPac art enrichment teacher, Brittany Lutz, wanted to share one of her favorite Halloween crafts – Pumpkin Prints. It’s easy, fun for the whole family, and makes for some great homemade decorations!
Follow the steps below to make your own:
What You'll Need
- A few Q-Tips
- Paper – You can use construction or plain white paper, whatever your artistic side prefers!
- Paint Brush – if you don’t have one laying around the house, use your fingers!
- A circular baking pan – you can also cut a circle out of a piece of cardboard and cover it in some foil.
- Paint – Orange and green if you want to keep it traditional, but feel free to get creative!
What To Do
- Flip your baking pan over so the flat bottom is facing you
- Take your paint brush, dip it in your paint, and cover the bottom of the baking pan with a thin layer of paint (don’t worry, it will wash off!)
- Once your pan is covered, take your q-tips and use them to draw out a jack-o-lantern face
- Now it’s time to make your print! Take your paper and press it down firmly on your baking pan
- Use your hand to smooth the paper over the paint covered pan, then slowly peel the paper up and off the pan.
- Viola! You have a pumpkin print!
- Want to make another pumpkin face? No problem! Just add a little bit more paint to your pan and make a new face.
- Make sure to wash your pan as soon as you’re done so your paint doesn’t dry.
