More than 56% of all video game players are between the ages of 13 and 34 and the expected growth is huge. Luckily for you, that means that there is plenty of room for you to join this Industry in the future! The industry is in need of audio engineers, writers, translators, video game testers, and technical support specialists. Below is a list of some of the dominant job titles and what it is that they do. Where can you see yourself?

Game designers: These are the people who come up with the ideas for the game. They think about the characters, the storyline, the settings, the interactions, and they guide others through the production process. This is one of the most important jobs in the field, so it is very competitive.
What can you do now? Study video games. Think about ways you can make them better.
Software developers: These people create a computer program to make the game work the way the developers want it to work. They create the code that the video gaming systems will read.
What can you do now? Perfect your skills in math and in English. Consider learning about the basics of computer programming.
Animators and other artists: Video games absolutely need these people for a video game to be successful. They are the ones to bring the story to life through character and setting development. They are also the team to make the game visually stand out on the shelf by making catchy packaging product placement.
What can you do now? Draw, sketch, use 3D models, and practice animation.
