Tips to Take Care of Yourself

By Gabriella M. and Noah M.

Sometimes, especially with online Learning, it can be hard to maintain a good school-life balance. On top of a deadly pandemic, due dates, projects, and ZOOMs can add a lot of stress! This is why self-care is now more important than ever. Here are easy ways to care for yourself.

  1. Celebrate the Wins, Acknowledge the Losses

Congratulate yourself when you finish an assignment early, score an A+, or even conquer a video game. You deserve it! But if you don’t get something right the first, or second, or even third time, don’t stress. Nobody’s perfect, and mistakes will prepare you for your next struggle!

  1. Surround Yourself with Things you Love

Whether it’s a throw pillow on your chair, a plant on your desk, or a framed piece of art, surround yourself with things you love. This’ll make you happier and more relaxed. Plus, one of the benefits of learning from home is that you can curl up in a blanket while you work on your schoolwork.

  1. Compliment Yourself

This is a no-brainer. No matter what you think, it’s impossible to be bad at everything. If you can’t think of anything, ask a sibling, friend, or parent.

  1. Take some Alone Time

Find a pocket of time during the day to be with yourself. Watch a TV show, doodle, journal, or anything else, but do it by yourself. Spend time in your own body, doing what you love.
