Robert Kennedy was a well-known American politician born on November 20, 1952. The politician goes by the full name Robert Francis Kennedy. The noble politician was born in Massachusetts in the United States of America. In Los Angeles, California, He died on June 6, 1968. He was the United States attorney general and political adviser. Iconic, charismatic, and influential- this was what Robert Kennedy was about. His brother was president John F Kennedy who ruled from 1961 to 1963. Later, he became the US Senator and stayed in the position from 1965 to 1968.

The politician was assassinated while he was campaigning for the Democratic Party. It was for the presidential nomination in 1968. Indeed a sudden loss for the people of America, he left for his heavenly abode.

  • Robert Kennedy was a student at Harvard University.
  • He had to leave his studies during World war 2. The guy served in the US navy and later returned to Harvard to complete his studies.
  • He completed his studies and graduated in 1948.
  • He was enrolled as a law student and got his degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1951. He officially became a lawyer and started to pursue his career as a politician.
  • It was in Massachusetts when he started his political journey. He did it with the help of the management of his brother John.
  • John Kennedy was a successful campaign runner for the US Senate. It helped Robert Kennedy get his political journey started.
  • The next year, He started his political career and became national prominence in 1953.
  • Before he achieved national prominence, he was an assistant counsel to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
  • Joseph R McCarthy headed the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. The guy resigned in 1953 but returned in 1954.
  • Joseph joined the ally as the counsel to the Democratic minority.
  • He became the chief counsel to the Senate. It then selected and conducted the investigations on labor racketeering committees.
  • This initiative led to a long-standing feud between the Teamsters Union and James R Hoffa.
  • In 1960, He resigned from the committee staff. He had to conduct his brother’s campaign, who was fighting for the US presidency.
  • His brother won the election and appointed Restaurants in Santiago as the general in 1961 as his cabinet.
  • President John was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas.
  • He continued to serve as general but resigned in September 1964.
  • His brother’s death was hard and desperate for Robert Kennedy. He grieved for a long time and used to stare at windows.
  • He used to walk in Virginia woods and took his time to recover. He also presided for 44 over the Department of Justice and rose as the statesman of law.

The hostile mob was dangerous and threatened Martin Luther King Jr. The latter was the civil rights leader. The mob also threatened his 1200 supporters in Montgomery, Alabama.

Robert Kennedy made sure to protect him and sent 400 federal marshals. There were racial crises, and the politician used long telephone sessions to work on strategies. These were for the peace officers in the south.

What did Robert Kennedy do?

Apart from protecting civil rights leaders and reformists, he also led a tough drive against organized crimes. Robert Kennedy made an imaginative drive for the same. On June 5, Robert Kennedy was residing at the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel, where he left the kitchen hallway. Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, a Palestinian immigrant, brutally and mortally injured Robert F. Kennedy as he left the kitchen corridor. This brutal assassination of Robert Kennedy is still hauled upon. The politician was laid to rest next to his brother’s grave.
