The Do’s and Don’ts of Online Class: A Series – Don’t Zoom into Class While in Bed

Don’t Zoom into Class while in bed. Early classes are not ideal. For anybody. During our pre-corona world, an 8 a.m. class meant both students and the professor had to get up early enough to get ready, commute to class, drink a coffee, and be presentable enough for in-person standards.

We have more time now!

PJs can be worn as pants and any commute has been made irrelevant. There is no reason a student should zoom into class while in bed.

It is really important that students and professors alike enter this online semester with a vow of respect. Laying down in bed does not uphold that vow.

I understand that your memory foam pillow is comfy but it will be there waiting for you when you get out of class. I promise.
