- Today (23rd May) is World Turtle Day.
- The purpose of this day is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.
- World Turtle Day 2020 Theme : American Tortoise Rescue
- As many as 6,654 coronavirus cases were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours, marking the biggest one-day jump so far and taking the total number of cases to 1,25,101.
- Meanwhile, 137 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 3,720.
- Out of the total cases, 69,597 cases are active.
- To provide job to every labourer, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan today launched the Shram Siddhi campaign in every Panchayat.
- Job cards will be given to labourers after a door-to-door survey and then they will be given jobs.
