CESCO For An Advanced Knowledge of Environmental Safety and Compliance Regulations

Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO) certification is being provided under the grandfathering of NREP till the date 1st January, 2013.. The certification is an effort to scout and certify professionals conversant in the understanding the laws governing air, water, waste-water pollution and solid and hazardous waste and safety.

Any individual keen upon enhancing his/her skills and proficiency in relation to environmental and safety profile in public or private organizations is eligible and suitable for a Cesco Certification. Upon the completion of NREP’s application and payment of $200, CESCO certification can be acquired. There is no examination for the certification. After the1st of January, 2013, candidates seeking to get CESCO certification will have to take a comprehensive computerized examination. CESCO is authentication of knowledge in basic training concerning environment and safety. It is also a testament of a technician’s zeal for self improvement in the said domain, a testament very useful in the competitive job market.

Individuals working for a governmental agency or working for a private organization that is required to meet environmental and safety regulations or in a firm which conducts environmental and safety matters should ideally have CESCO certification.

The following qualification is required to be eligible for CESCO:

Education: Minimum of HAZWOPER 40 hr or OSHA 10 hr or 30 hr training or an Associates degree from an accredited community college.

Work Experience: 2 years of full time employment performing environmental and/or safety responsibilities for a consultant, industry or military.

CESCO certification program is a result of the efforts of an experienced advisory board from the government, military and the industry with a combined experience of over 100 years in matters of environmental assessments. It is mandatory on the part of the certification holders to abide by the NREP Code of Ethics and maintain the certification and validation of environment and safety knowledge.

Annual Renewal:

An annual payment of $90 is to be paid to the as annual renewal fee before the expiration date shown on individual NREP ID card.

* Please attach a copy of your Resume having the list of the dates and a description of the work done by you which required environmental and safety requirements. Showing an understanding of the requirements of environmental and safety regulations is a very important part of the whole process.
