You might wonder at the title - turning your blog into a brand? How is that possible? Isn't a Brand more to do with products? Well, the thing is, anything can be turned into a brand, even a personality. All you need is to build a set of unique elements around your blog, and use them consistently to create a brand. Here are 12 Tips To Turn Your Blog Into A Brand.

1Build A Solid Brand Strategy:

What do you want your blog to be known as? Do you want it to be known as the problem-solving blog, or the subject authority blog, or the resource library blog? Determine the message you want to send and build your blog’s brand strategy around your message.

2Create A Simple But Easy-To-Remember Logo:

People are quick to recognize companies just by looking at their logos. Come up with a logo that best represents your brand message. For example, assume your message is ‘Ultimate Resource Center’. Your logo could be some high shelves loaded with books, with a human figure browsing the books. Use bright colors for your logo.

3Employ A Unique Design For Your Blog:

Select a design template that uses distinct colors. If possible, have a custom template created for your blog to help it stand apart from the crowd. Use distinct fonts and font sizes for your post titles, headings, quotes and links. Use the same color scheme in your newsletters, in your signature when you comment on blogs and so on.

4Use Your Blog’s Name As Your User Name On Social Media:

If your blog name is CoolTweensFashions, use the same name as your user name on social media, discussion forums, and comment forms and so on. Even if you don’t use a particular network, sign up on it using your blog name as user name. Also create a unique has tag on twitter to establish your social media presence.

5Establish Your Domain Name On All Top Level Domains:

When you have a popular blog, others will try to buy up domain names using the first part of your URL. For example, if your domain name is CoolTweensFashions.com, there’s no stopping anyone from buying up CoolTweensFashions.net. Beat them to the race and buy up all popular domains in your blog name.

6Don’t Assume People Know What Your Blog Is About:

What is your company’s vision? What do you do, and what value do you impart to your readers and customers? Create a mission and work statement for your blog and place it prominently on top of your homepage. Don’t write more than 2-3 lines. Your mission statement must concisely answer your reader’s question about your blog.

7Offer Multiple Funnel Options:

What products and services do you offer? Create distinct funnel options on your home page for people to choose. Use opt-in boxes to help people select the option they want – whether it’s consulting services, affiliate products, eBooks or whatever. The funnel method helps promote awareness better than options in the navigation bar.

8Leverage The Power Of Video

On your home page and on important pages, place a small still photo with a video CTA. The video can offer valuable information on your offers, your blog, and your mission and so on, depending on which page it is. Video-branding helps people recognize your professionalism and get to know you better.

9Provide Social Proofs:

In your ‘Subscribe to My Newsletter” CTA box, include a reader’s or customer’s testimonial along with their email address. Usually people don’t know what kind of newsletter they’re subscribing to. This kind of social proof helps people to connect to your message. Also, drop a link in the CTA box to one of your best newsletters so people can see the value of subscribing to your newsletter.

10Establish Certain Best Practices For Your Blog:

For example, newsletter subscribers get a free eBook. That can be one best practice. Then again, all subscribed members will receive an invitation to join an exclusive community on your blog. These people will be able to contribute to your blog, your business and their articles will be published on your blog. You can think of several other best practices, but make sure you document them on your home page so people know at first glance.

11Maintain Strict Consistency:

Whatever branding strategies and methods you decide to use, keep them constant. Let people know about them and use the same message and the same branding strategy everywhere – on forums, on social media, on comments, on other blogs, while networking and so on.

12Be Persistent:

It takes time to successfully establish a blog’s brand. Relentlessly publish content and reinforce your brand message over and over till it records in people’s minds. Don’t change things around, or you’ll end up confusing your community. Also, only extend your brand into areas that have relevance to it; don’t spread yourself everywhere just to be known and recognized.
