How Long Does A WordPress Blog Post Remain “trashed”?

A WordPress blog post remains trashed for 30 days by default. After 30 days, it will be permanently deleted. However, you can change this setting in the WordPress dashboard. To do this, go to Settings > Trash and enter the number of days you want posts to remain trashed before being permanently deleted. You can also choose to disable the trash altogether, but this is not recommended.

If you Accidentally Delete a blog post, you can Restore it from the trash within 30 days. To do this, go to Posts > Trash and click the Restore link next to the post you want to restore.

If you have deleted a blog post and it has been more than 30 days, you will need to restore it from a backup. If you do not have a backup, the post will be lost permanently.

Here are some tips for managing your WordPress blog trash:

  • Regularly empty the trash to remove deleted posts that you are no longer sure you need.
  • If you have a lot of deleted posts, consider archiving them instead of deleting them permanently. This will allow you to keep the posts but they will not be visible on your blog.
  • If you accidentally delete a post, restore it from the trash as soon as possible.
  • Make sure to have a regular backup of your WordPress blog in case you accidentally delete a post that you cannot restore from the trash.
