Young Scholars Program

The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a competitive five-year pre-college scholarship for high-achieving seventh-grade children who are financially needy. It offers complete academic and college advice, as well as financial assistance for school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities.

The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a competitive five-year pre-college scholarship for high-achieving seventh-grade children who are financially needy. Cooke Young Scholars are assisted by Educational Advisers in making the most of their high school experience and preparing to excel in the nation’s top-performing colleges. Among our programming and services are:

  • Locating a challenging high school.
  • Planning and goal-setting for four years.
  • Academic and extracurricular possibilities such as music and art lessons, supplemental academic seminars, and technology are all supported.
  • Summer programs are held each year, with two obligatory Cooke Young Scholar activities.
  • Interaction and networking with a community of high-achieving peers all year long.

College Scholarship Program

The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program offered to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who want to attend and graduate from the nation’s greatest four-year colleges and universities.

Scholarship Deadline: The application for the Cooke College Scholarship Program is now open and will close on November 16, 2023, at midnight in the applicant’s time zone.

How to Apply for the College Scholarship Program

The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is the nation’s largest undergraduate scholarship program for high-achieving high school graduates with financial need who wish to attend the best four-year institutions and universities. Cooke Scholars get thorough educational counseling, significant cohort-based programming, graduate school assistance, and a thriving network of approximately 3,200 fellow Cooke Scholars and Alumni in addition to the monetary prize.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Senior standing – Plan to graduate from a high school in the United States in the spring of 2024.
  • autumn College Enrollment – Plan to start attending an accredited four-year college in the autumn of 2024.
  • GPA – A cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above is required.
  • Show Unmet Financial Need – We will evaluate candidates with annual family gross incomes of up to $95,000. The Foundation will perform a complete financial analysis during the selection process, taking into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.

Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer award is a very competitive award for excellent community college students pursuing bachelor’s degrees at four-year schools or universities. For two to three years, each Cooke Scholar receives considerable financial support, college preparation assistance, continuous counseling, and the opportunity to engage with a dynamic community of fellow Scholars.

Scholarship details: The application period for the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship has ended. It is scheduled to reopen on October 5, 2023 and close on January 11, 2024.

Each award is designed to cover a large portion of a student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books, and compulsory fees – for the final two to three years of a bachelor’s degree program. Individual awards differ depending on the cost of tuition as well as any other grants or scholarships received.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility standards to be eligible for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship:

  • Sophomore Status – You must be a current sophomore at a recognized United States community college or two-year institution by January 1, 2024, or a recent graduate (since spring 2019).
  • Fall College Enrollment- Enroll in a bachelor program at an authorized college or university full-time in the fall of 2024.
  • GPA- Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
  • We will accept candidates with a maximum annual gross income of $95,000 if they can demonstrate unmet financial need. The Foundation will perform a complete financial analysis of the student and the kid’s parents during the selection process.
  • There has been no prior enrollment or attendance at a four-year institution. This grant is not available to students who have already attended a four-year university.
  • You may be eligible if you began at a four-year university but did not complete a semester of full-time study. Please get in touch with us to confirm your eligibility.
  • Students who have already transferred to a four-year college or who plan to transfer in the spring of 2023 are also ineligible for this award.
Selection Criteria:

The application and selection processes for these grants are rigorous and difficult, with roughly 45 scholarships awarded each year from thousands of candidates. The applicants are judged by a review team of eminent college admissions professionals and faculty utilizing criteria like as:

  • High academic ability and achievement: a strong academic record, academic prizes and accolades, and substantive evaluations from educators who provide confidential recommendations. We examine participation in accessible advanced courses, devotion to study, and intellectual curiosity, in addition to GPA.
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need. We will take applicants with a household income of up to $95,000 into account. The Foundation will perform a complete financial analysis of the student and the kid’s parents during the selection process.
