In the quiet suburb of Barrackpore, in 24 Parganas District (North), West Bengal, Kiran Ghosh’s life took an unexpected twist after tragedy struck her once-content household. A 12th pass, Kiran had embraced the role of a devoted housewife, finding fulfilment in her family’s happiness.
But when her husband met an untimely demise in a tragic accident, Kiran found herself thrust into a world of sudden widowhood and the daunting responsibility of her in-laws. Grief-stricken and burdened by societal expectations, she grappled with the overwhelming weight of her new reality, uncertain about her future and the path ahead.
“Amidst profound despair, Anudip Foundation emerged as a beacon of hope for me,” said Kiran. This introduction marked the beginning of a journey towards empowerment and independence for Kiran. Driven by a newfound determination to rebuild her life, Kiran decided to take charge of her destiny and enrolled in the ‘Certificate in English Communication and IT course’ offered at Anudip Skill and Career Development Centre in Barasat.
“I knew I had to seize the opportunity to learn and grow,” Kiran recounted, her resolve unwavering even in the face of adversity.
She successfully completed the program through sheer perseverance and hard work, equipping herself with valuable technical know-how and workplace acumen essential for today’s competitive job market.
The transformation in Kiran was palpable as she emerged from the shadows of despair, empowered and ready to take on the world. With the support of Anudip Foundation, Kiran secured a job as a Customer Service Associate at Taurus BPO Services India bringing in an annual income of INR 1.08 lakhs, a significant milestone in her journey towards financial stability and independence.
“I never imagined I’d come this far,” Kiran admitted, her voice filled with awe at her resilience and the support she received along the way. Reflecting on her journey, Kiran expresses her heartfelt gratitude to her alma mater Anudip Foundation for providing her with the means to support herself and restoring her faith in her abilities. In her own heartfelt testimony, the proud alumna expressed, “Anudip Foundation didn’t just teach me skills; they restored my confidence and belief in myself. They turned my ‘I can’t’ into ‘I will.”
Kiran now stand tall, armed with newfound confidence and valuable skills. She takes joy in the genuine kindness and respect her in-laws now show, acknowledging her efforts and contributions to the family’s well-being.
