Benefits received under Kerala State Higher Education Council Scholarship 2023

• For the first, second, and third years of undergraduate programs, candidates will get Rs 12,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 24,000 respectively.
• For graduate scholarship recipients who continue their studies in graduate school, the cost of the first year of postgraduate study will be Rs 40,000, and the cost of the second year will be Rs 60,000.
• Students whose physical impairment is at least 40% will get an additional 25% of the scholarship award.
• The scholarship will be renewed each year based on the academic progress of the scholar.

Eligibility Criteria (KSHEC)

Applicants who wish to apply for the given scholarship must meet the following criteria which are given below:

Nationality-

The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Educational Qualification-

• The applicant must be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate aided science, social science, humanities, or professional course in a government-aided Arts and Sciences college or a course of equal or greater academic rigor in an IHRD College of Applied Science. 2022–2023.
• People enrolled in professional or self-financed courses are not eligible.
• Candidates must have passed the Plus 2/equivalent examination to be eligible.
• ST applicants must have obtained passing grades in the Plus 2/equivalent examination for all streams. SC applicants must have a 60% average in the Business Studies stream and a 55% average in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences.
• It will be 45% for physical challenges in all streams.
• The minimum marks required for BPL/OBC are 65% in Professional Studies, 55% in Humanities and Social Sciences, and 60% in Science.

Other criteria-

• This award is not available to recipients of any other grant or stipend other than fee reduction.
• This section does not apply to one-time grants given to SC/ST students or Hindi scholarships given by the Directorate of Collegiate Education.

Documents required for registration

• Copy of SSLC certificate with Principal/Gazetted Officer attestation showing the place of birth, age, and date of birth
• Mark the list of SSLC and equivalents with attestation from the Principal or Gazetted Officer.
• Attested photocopy of Class 12 or equivalent examination result signed by the Principal or Newspaper Officer
• The Principal/Gazetted Officer attests to the first page of the Bank Pass Book (The candidate’s Name, Account Number, IFSC Code, and Address should be clearly visible).
• Applicants falling under the BPL category must provide a certificate which is attested by the Principal or Newspaper Officer.
• Students who are physically disabled must provide a medical certificate from a Government Medical Board showing a disability of 40% or more, confirmed by the Principal or other officer.
• The Principal or Gazetted Officer has to verify the caste certificate which was issued by the Village Officer or Tehsildar for SC/ST students.
• OBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate from the Village Officer attested by the Principal or Newspaper Officer.

Selection Criteria

If you want to get selected under the scholarship then you must meet the selection criteria which will be based on the weightage of your marks, it is below:

• 50% of the total number of scholarships will fall in the general category.
• Scholarships are allocated as follows:
• 10% for SC/ST
• 10% for BPL
• 27% for OBC
• 3% for physically handicapped students.
• The scholarship will be divided into multiple streams, according to the number of sanctioned seats for each stream in each university.
